Congratulations to CPVS graduating seniors Alyssa Schaffer, Jenna Hane, Jenna Nerger, Collette Kost, Kevin O’Hora who have been accepted to the following fine music schools – Carnegie Mellon School of Music, University of Michigan, University of Maryland, NYU Steinhardt School, Mason Gross School of the Arts, Northwestern University, Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, Hartt School of Music, SUNY Purchase, DePaul University, McGill University, University of Houston, Boston University, The College of New Jersey, Westminster Choir College, Ithaca College School of Music, Cali School of the Arts at Montclair State University, and SUNY Potsdam.

In the past, CPVS students have gone on to study music in prestigious colleges, universities, and conservatories such as Carnegie Mellon School of Music, University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, NYU Steinhardt School, UCLA’s Ray Bolger Musical Theater Program, Mannes School of Music, New England Conservatory, Cali School of the Arts at Montclair State University, Ithaca College School of Music, Berklee School of Music, Westminster Choir College, Manhattan School of Music, University of Miami, Boston Conservatory. 


Broadway
Constantine Rousouli was “Link” in Hairspray on Broadway.

Broadway National Tours
Constantine Rousouli, Ashley Wallace, Katie Dowdell, and Dana Graber have appeared in National Touring Companies of Broadway Shows.

Professional Companies
Our singers have gone on to sing in professional companies like Glimmerglass Opera Festival, Utah Festival Opera, Papermill Playhouse, White Plains Performing Arts Center, Helen Hayes Theater, Westchester Broadway Theater, TriArts: Sharon Playhouse, among others.

Television

Constantine Rousouli recently appeared on PBS Television’s In Performance at the White House, performing for President Obama. Check him out on PBS
Rich Krakowski appeared on television as a finalist in “Star Search”.
Several students have appeared on WCTV Presents on Washington Township Community Television.
For the last two years, The CPVS OperaFest on Martha’s Vineyard performance was broadcast on Oradell Public Television.

Awards
At the annual NJMEA (New Jersey Music Educators Association) Opera Festival, CPVS students won a total of 4 B.B. Scripps Scholarships (top scoring singer overall), 7 Governor’s Awards for Opera (top scoring female or male singer or duet), and one honorable mention.

At the annual Classical Singer Magazine High School Vocal Competition, CPVS singers have been State or Regional Winners for the last 3 years, and have won the chance to compete at the National finals.

Scholarships
Our singers have won scholarships from numerous musical organizations such as the Walter Engel Festival of Young Performers, The Pro Arte Chorale, Roy Meyers Singers, Papermill Playhouse, NJMEA, and The Helen Hayes Theatre.

This year, Alyssa Schaffer won five scholarships - The Walter Engel Festival of Young Performers,The Pro Arte Chorale, The Don Bosco Young Artist Competition, as well as Outstanding Vocal Performance at her High School, in addition to the Music Parents Association Award, totalling over $4,000.

College Scholarships
This year, Kevin O’Hora won a $10,000 per year scholarship to Carnegie Mellon.

In past years, College Scholarship winners include - 
Alicia Vitale won a scholarship to Boston Conservatory worth $17,000 per year.
Sarah Goldstein won a scholarship to University of Miami worth $11,000 per year.
Josh Skurnik won a scholarship to Boston Conservatory worth $20,000 per year.
Steven Conzo won a scholarship to Berklee School of Music worth $9,000 per year.
Marielle Nasta received a 4 year vocal scholarship for free voice lessons at Wagner College.

Performance Venues
Our singers have appeared at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, at the White House, on Broadway, in Broadway National Tours, at the NJ PAC and The Bergen PAC. They have appeared with Garage Theatre, and as soloists with The Fine Tuners String Orchestra, and the New Jersey Youth Chorus. CPVS students sing regularly at Walter Engel Festival of Young Performers, and the Bach ‘n Buddies Festival.

High School Success Stories
In the past, a number of CPVS students have been nominated for Papermill Playhouse’s prestigious Rising Star Competition, as well as the Helen Hayes Theatre Awards.
This year, Maria De Conzo was nominated for outstanding vocal performance and duet; and Patrick Sweeney was nominated for Outstanding Acting Performance by the Metropolitan High School Theater Awards at the Helen Hayes Theater.

Maria DeConzo was one of only singers 20 selected by the New York City Opera's High School Vocal Seminar. The Seminar culminated in a mock audition for the staff of NYCO on the main stage of the New York State Theater at Lincoln Center.

CPVS Students often have lead or supporting roles in their high school musicals.

Our singers are often selected for County, Regional & All-State Choruses.
